I was tired of buying cheap tripods that break after its first use or two so i tried this one. I could honestly say its prob stronger than any of my ex boyfriends. This thing is sturdy AF and great quality. Folds down pretty small too considering how tall it actually is

After years of using a $25 tripod that was total garbage, I finally upgraded to this. I wish I would have bought this tripod years ago instead of the cheap tripod I did purchase back then.First off, this tripod is light! Lighter than the cheap tripod, but it feels much more stable and sturdy.Having a ballhead (and a removable one at that) is a huge upgrade from the cheap tripod I was using. The cheap tripod had a mounting plate that often came unlocked, causing my camera to fall off my tripod. The ARCA-Swiss plate with this ballhead is metal (just like everything on the tripod) and is very solid. It securely locks in place and I am confident that my camera won't fall off like it did on my cheap tripod. Also, because the head is ARCA-Swiss compatible, I can use an L-bracket on my camera instead of the included plate.Due to the leg-lock design, you can get the tripod quite low to the ground, very useful for landscape and astrophotography. The tripod compacts down to a small size for travel, which means I'll have an easier time fitting it in my luggage when I fly.Overall, this tripod is amazing and probably the best value on Amazon right now.

Love this tripod, very easy to use and well made. I think I have finally found one I won't have to replace in two years! I am not a professional so I don't use it daily, but I usually purchase tripods in this same price range and most have more plastic than this one and are no where near as durable as this one. It also has much more versatility for positions. I appreciate the head, I didn't wan't to have to turn so many knobs to do everything and this tripod takes care of that issue. With a higher weight limit than most in the same price range I don't have to worry about my D90 and flash on it either. Oh - it has a great carrying/storage bag as well. Thanks!

Originally a little sceptical when purchasing a tripod off Amazon. But happily surprised and really impressed with the quality of the tripod. Took to Paris and a little exploring on an air base. Relatively light weight, very stable and packed down well.I would happily consider other products from the company following the purchase.

Bought a cheaper brand for 35-40 and was a total waste of money, unless you using a small go pro camera. For a full size camera with extra gear and some weight, this tripod is very strong, very solid, and does not feel cheap! Sure you could spend much more, but don’t spend less. This is the tripod for all but the top 1% of photographers!

Note, edits at the end of the review regarding fault.Wanted a more compact tripod to replace a cheap as chips tripod I've had many years use out of, as I wanted to do a bit more landscape photography, this would be much easier to carry. Based on reviews this seemed perfect. It arrived very well packaged, with a nice little pouch cover the head to protect it, the carry bag also has the added option of a shoulder strap and I like that one of the legs has a foam coating around it, helps keep your hands a little warmer when carrying it in the winter. The trip is very compact, lightweight and very sturdy in windy conditions. It states it’s quick release, which to me, means flicking a little lever and it’s released, this you have to screw to tighten around the plate, ok only a few seconds, but when your hands are freezing, screwing and unscrewing something isn’t always easy to do!That was just a minor niggle for me though and one I was happy to live with as I was impressed with the tripod. However, after just a few weeks of use it started to leak a sticky gel from where the head rotates. I would’ve expected this from my cheapo tripod, but not one at this price. I understand it’ll need some kind of gel to keep the rotation so smooth, but had I known it would leak as much as it does I would’ve chosen another tripod, as it gets all over everything. Reading through the reviews there only seems to be one other who's experienced this, so I'm guessing I just have a faulty one.Sadly I’m outside of the return window now so just have to make do until I can afford to replace it.***Edit 04/12 - Seller (dcmall) contacted me within hours of this review being published, and advised the tripod is faulty, they sent a replacement out which was received the next day. Will test the new one and update my review accordingly******Edit 11/12 - Tested the replacement tripod this weekend, and it's been great. When comparing the two, I noticed the head on the first was very loose/wobbly in comparison to the replacement, which makes me believe the first one I received was definitely faulty. I slipped and fell on the replacement this weekend on the ice, no breakages (tripod or me) the head is still solid and leaks no gel.Very happy with the service provided by the seller (thank you) and now very happy with the tripod!***

Wow! Extremely pleased with this tripod. I have been looking for a lightweight alternative to my trusty Manfrotto 3205LC with Manfrotto 496RC2 head. I do a lot of hiking and backpacking as part of my landscape photography, getting off the beaten path, often times 10+ miles from the trailhead. The manfrotto always weighs me down, it is HEAVY! The problem is I needed a lightweight tripod that is relatively inexpensive (carbon fiber is out, great but WAY out of my price range), compact yet can handle the weight of my 5dmkii kit and L lenses. A friend recommended this to me and I must say, I am beyond pleased! It is a third less in size when folded up than my manfrotto and 2-3lbs lighter. It is light! This is huge for me. But, how is the functionality of it? Well, the legs extend via quick release tabs vs. the screw knob handle things on my old tripod (much faster to open). I also have more movements for when I want to get all the way down to the ground but have the legs out of the way, the tripod can be inverted (if this makes sense, just see the product pictures of better explanation). The head is different than the manfrotto head, in a good way. The manfrotto is quick release which is nice but the quick release plate never instilled confidence and I would be nervous the camera would come loose. On this tripod, you screw the plate into place. A bit slower, but instills confidence which I need when I have a 1k lens and full frame body being mounted to it. The movements are smoother too, much silkier with a built in leveler. Nice little touches like this. Just a refined tripod vs the utilitarian one I have been using. I took this tripod out for a good trial run over the weekend, 2.5 mile boulder hopping trail to a great waterfall, no issues carrying it. Not tired at all. K&F Tripod was stable in all shooting situations. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting a quality tripod at a reasonable price, especially to those looking for lightweight and compact.
