Solid 4 Star product in a very comfortable price range
Update: The wireless charging feature stopped working, HOWEVER Tinwoo Customer Service provided a prompt email response and quick shipment of a replacement watch. Because it may have simply been a unique issue, and because the response was positive, I will leave the rating as 4 stars.I've been using a WearOS smart watch (paired with my Android phone) for a couple years now, and have enjoyed it very much, but I knew it was getting to be time to start looking for something new. I didn't actually use or need many of the features that most high-end smart watches offer. I like to see the time, date, and weather at a glance, and I like to feel/view my notifications on my wrist without needing to pull my phone out of my pocket. Sometimes counting my steps is a nice perk, but I'm not super fixated on that. The Tinwoo Smart Watch was on a hefty discount on Prime Day, and I decided it was worth a try.PROS:- PRICE. On sale, this cost me somewhere between 25% to 10% of the cost of the full-featured name-brand smart watches I was considering. Even at full price it still wouldn't have been more than 50% of the cost of the least expensive ones I compared it against.- Battery is sufficient. Initially I set it to illuminate only when I flipped my wrist up to look at it. I took it off the charger at 100% on Monday morning, and finally decided to charge it again the following Sunday night even though there was still some charge remaining.- Qi wireless charging! I love this feature! I can charge it on the same charging pad as my phone. No need for a special plug/charger (although it comes with one).- I downloaded the mobile app, and followed the instructions, and it connected pretty quickly and easily.- It's a nice looking watch. Not super fancy, but it doesn't look or feel cheap at all. I opted to purchase a standard sized (22mm) metal clasp watchband and put that on to replace the rubber one that came with it.- There are a handful of watch faces installed, and I was able to find one that was suitable.- The display is clear and easy to read.- It vibrates when a notification comes in to my phone, and offers me where the notification came from, and sometimes provides a little more detail of the message depending on the app the notification is coming from- It offers a variety of built-in fitness tracking features, including heart rate (which my previous smart watch did not have).CONS (why 4 stars instead of 5):- Admittedly, I do wish there were more face options included or downloadable- No customization to the information displayed on the watch face- The amount of information provided with notifications is pretty minimal compared to my previous smart watch.- No ability to reply/respond to messages through the watch.- I realized yesterday that I wasn't receiving notifications and discovered that the watch had disconnected from my phone at some point (not sure why). It didn't reconnect right away, and it took a little bit of research to get it reconnected.- With my previous smart watch, I generally charged it every night, but, even with the display in "Always On", I had managed to stretch it to almost 2 days a few times. On my first attempt using the "Always On" setting with the Tinwoo, it didn't get too much more than 24 hours. This isn't terrible since I can easily charge it overnight, but I kind of expected that, with fewer features compared to the full-feature watches, it might last a little bit longer.- I'm not 100% confident of the step-tracker. The count seems pretty high based on my desk job.Overall, I would compare this to the mid-range Fitbits and similar no-name fitness trackers that pass along your phone notifications and display basic information, but really are just there to track your fitness. It just looks and functions more like a traditional watch than those. For me, that's mostly fine. I may continue looking for a deal on a full-featured smart watch to gain back some of the interactivity with the notifications, but I'm pretty satisfied with this for the low price I paid.
