We got this camera for my son's 5th birthday. I was really impressed by all the accessories that came with it and by the functionality of the camera. My son has been confused by the fact that it isn't touch screen (like the iphone and ipad and even our laptop) but I'm hoping that he catches on to how the buttons work because it's actually a decent camera that can do really cool things. Right now he asks me for help to do certain things. I read reviews about the battery life but once we charged it initially (took a while to charge fully) the battery life has been substantial. If you are giving it as a gift for a young child I would recommend opening the package and charging the camera before wrapping, that way they can play with it right away and the excitement doesn't fade. The flip part of the camera is really easy to use and a cool feature, my kids enjoy being able to easily take selfies just by shifting the lens (rather than trying to find the function within the camera's system). I have 3 kids under the age of 5 and I'm pretty sure they will all enjoy this camera for as long as it survives the abuse of childhood. So far my only "complaint" is that it isn't a touch screen. As a parent who grew up without the internet, I realize that it's not a legitimate complaint but merely a feature that would make it easier for the younger kids who aren't used to pushing buttons to make a device function.
